Suzanne Edison is a poet, educator, former therapist and the mother of a child with a rare, autoimmune disease called Juvenile Myositis.
She leads workshops for parents and medical professionals on the effects of chronic illness on families, teaches a writing workshop for parents who have a child with ongoing health issues at Seattle Children’s Hospital, and is working on a poetry / visual art project in collaboration with Benaroya Research Institute with support from 4Culture of King County, WA. In Fall of 2017 she will teach The Words to Say It: Writing About Illness, Trauma and Healing at Richard Hugo House in Seattle.
